Whenever our Beagles finish their show and breeding careers,
they are spayed/neutered. Although they are welcome to stay
here the rest of their lives, most of them become available to the
right home for those who don't feel that they are up to the
challenges of a raising a puppy.
Our retired adult beagles are:
- Up to date on all shots and wormings
- Up to date on heartworm and flea prevention
- Have a current Negative Heartworm Test
- Microchipped & registered with HomeAgain
- AKC and UKC registered
- Have been spayed/neutered by our vet
The drawbacks of adopting an adult Beagle is that you do not
get to watch them grow up and that they can be set in their
ways some times, however they make up for it in the
unconditional love that they offer to their new owners. Most
bond to their new families within a month or so.
When considering one of our adult Beagles, please understand
that we request you to keep the Beagle for a minimum 30 days
adjustment period to insure the dog is given every opportunity
to adjust to his/her new environment. They may have some
accidents or issues during this initial adjustment period.
If you do not feel you are willing to try to help an adult Beagle
adjust to your home for a minimum 30 day period, please do not
contact us about our adult Beagles.
If after the 30 day adjustment period you feel that the Beagle is
just not the right fit for your family, you may return him/her
within 60 days for a full refund of your adoption fee.
We will take back our retired Beagles at any age and for any
reason as we do not want them to end up in a shelter, rescue,
or unwanted - however, after 60 days we will not refund your
adoption fee.
Our Retired Adult Beagles are generally priced at $300 and sold
with a "Retired Adult Contract".
