What to Purchase For Your Beagle
A-Quality Beagles, Reg'd.
We recommend the following Books:

Beagles For Dummies
Training Your Beagle
Books
Collar, Leash & ID Tags
Toys
Bowls, Food & Supplements
We use and recommend Lupine Collars & Leashes as they
are guaranteed for life!
We also use and recommend Flexi Leads which allow
your pet 16 feet of leash to exercise. We prefer the "
All
Belt Flexi Lead". However, you should not use these
leads if your Beagle pulls you as they do not give you as
much control as a regular leash.
The Best ID tags on the market are sold by Boomerang
Tags, they offer stainless steel, brass, collar tags, &
plastic tags.
If your dog pulls you while walking, we recommend
using a
Halti headcollar. Use a Size 1 for Beagles unless
they have a large muzzle. Use a size 2 for larger muzzled
Beagles.
We use and recommend Nylabone chew toys, we prefer
the "Souper" size for our adult Beagles and the
"Regular" size for our puppies.
We also use and recommend KONG toys, we prefer the
Extreme (Black) KONG in Original (4") for our adult
Beagles and the
Puppy KONG Medium (3 1/2") for our
puppies.
We use and recommend the Midwest Lifestages crate for
crate training & housebreaking. We use the 21" height
for our adults & puppies.
We use and recommend the Petmate Vari Kennel for
traveling. We use the 21.5" height (Medium) for our
adults & puppies.
We use and recommend the Midwest Gold Exercise Pen
for confining your new puppy to a certain area in your
house during housebreaking, or as a play area. We
recommend the 48" height to help deter puppies from
learning to climb.
We use and recommend the Midwest Quiet Time Pet
Beds in our dog's crates as long as they don't chew their
bedding.
We use and recommend the Kurunda Aluminum Pet Beds
for dogs who chew.
We use and recommend Bella Bowls in the 3qt size for
with paw & bone designs on the sides.
We highly recommend Diamond Naturals dog food in the
Chicken & Rice formula, however they offer several
different formulas.

We recommend 3/4-1 cup per day for a 20-25lb Beagle
and 1-1 1/2 cups per day for a 25-30lb Beagle. Adjust
this amount based on your Beagle's weight, some
require more or less to maintain ideal body weight. You
should be able to easily feel all of your dogs ribs, but not
see them - he should have an hourglass shape when
viewed from above.

Make sure you read the label closely and
do your
research before you buy any food.

We also highly recommend a
raw food diet which is in
our opinion, the very best dog food there is - however it
does require more time and is about as expensive as the
higher end dog kibbles.

In the end, the most important thing is that your Beagle
does well on the food you feed. He should have an
hourglass figure, his coat should be sleek & shiny, he
should have plenty of energy, and his ears should be
free from infection or yeast.
We use and recommend supplementing your Beagle's
diet with
Fish Oil Capsules. We give them with food, 1
capsule per 10lbs of body weight. They help with coat
issues, shedding, allergies, joint pain and many other
issues - overall a wonderful supplement.

For our older dogs (Seven years or older), we use and
recommend
Chondroitin - it really helps their joints. We
give 2 tablets a day for 14 days and 1 tablet per 25lbs a
day afterward.
